OLD PUEBLO VINTAGE FIRE BRIGADE
SAFETY RULES

  1. All club vehicles must have a properly charged and working modern type fire extinguisher that is easily accessible at all times.
  2. All club vehicles must be properly insured and legal to operate on public streets to participate in club events.
  3. All club vehicles in a parade setting will have a driver and a spotter. Club participants without vehicles present as well as guests will be divided among vehicles present to insure that all club vehicles have spotters. When possible all club vehicles should have spotters to and from events as well.
  4. All participating vehicles will maintain proper spacing in a parade environment to allow for emergencies and safe operation of the vehicle. Safe spacing will be determined by parade conditions.
  5. Riders will be allowed on “non standard positions” on the vehicles at the discretion of the owner of the individual vehicle. (tailboards, hose beds, etc.)
  6. Whenever possible large trucks should be paired with a smaller vehicle as an escort both to and from events, as well as paired together during parades.
  7. Whenever possible two-way radios on a club designated frequency should be used when caravanning to and from events to allow communications between vehicles. When radios are used, a minimum of 3 radios are needed for the lead and tail vehicles as well as one radio in a smaller “spotter” vehicle.
  8. Club vehicles should be operated in a safe manner consistent with the parade conditions. (Weaving along a route only when space permits. Safe operation of tillered equipment, etc.)
